About the role#
As a Technology Lifecycle Services Renewals Sales Specialist Intern, you will help clients optimize and protect their technology environments. This role focuses on consultative selling, customer success, and building relationships. You will connect customers with IBM solutions across AI, data, automation, cloud, and infrastructure while building a foundation for a career in technology sales.
What you'll do#
- Create demand and build trusted client relationships.
- Identify and support net new business, renewal, cross-sell, and upsell opportunities.
- Research client business priorities, technology environments, and industry trends.
- Develop and maintain opportunity pipelines and support forecasting activities.
- Assist in territory planning and account strategy development.
- Use digital engagement, calls, meetings, and social selling to generate opportunities.
- Participate in discovery sessions to understand client goals and technology requirements.
- Build relationships with business and technical decision-makers.
- Support client presentations, proposals, business reviews, and solution discussions.
- Communicate the value of IBM TLS offerings to improve operational efficiency and resiliency.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment as an undergraduate or graduate student in Business Administration, Commerce, Marketing, Economics, Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Business Technology, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Strong interest in technology, sales, and solving business challenges.
- Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to build relationships with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Previous experience through internships, projects, research, or extracurriculars in sales, business development, customer success, consulting, or marketing.
- Exposure to enterprise technology, cloud computing, networking, cybersecurity, infrastructure, AI, or data analytics.
- Experience using CRM systems, Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or reporting tools.
- Leadership experience through student organizations, athletics, volunteer work, or community involvement.
