    About the role#

    As a Software Engineering Intern, you will join our engineering team to build, test, and improve software. You will work alongside experienced engineers on real projects. This role helps you develop practical skills in automation, cloud technologies, and networking. It is designed for students or recent graduates who are curious and eager to learn.

    What you'll do#

    • Collaborate with product team members and engineers to understand requirements and finish development tasks.
    • Write, test, debug, and maintain code with guidance from the team.
    • Contribute to automation scripts, small features, integrations, or application improvements.
    • Participate in team discussions, code reviews, demonstrations, and Agile ceremonies.
    • Create and update troubleshooting instructions, test notes, and technical documentation.
    • Use development tools and version control to manage changes.
    • Learn our software development lifecycle, coding standards, and deployment processes.
    • Support defect investigation and testing in development environments.
    • Ask questions and incorporate feedback to strengthen your professional and technical skills.
    • Explore new technologies relevant to team projects.

    What you'll need#

    • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology, engineering, or a related field.
    • Foundational programming experience from coursework, internships, personal projects, boot camps, or open-source work.
    • Familiarity with at least one language such as Python, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, C++, C#, or Ruby.
    • Basic understanding of data structures, software development concepts, testing, and debugging.
    • Ability to organize work, meet deadlines, and respond to feedback.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn new tools.
    • Ability to communicate clearly and work in a team.
    • Coursework or projects involving APIs, web technologies, databases, or front-end frameworks.
    • Familiarity with Git or other version-control systems.
    • Exposure to Agile practices, unit testing, or continuous integration concepts.
    • Interest in areas like cloud platforms, containers, Kubernetes, Red Hat OpenShift, DevOps, automation, or site reliability engineering.
    • Basic knowledge of networking, Linux, application security, or cybersecurity.
    • A GitHub profile, portfolio, hackathon project, or open-source contribution that shows your curiosity.
    • No prior full-time professional software development experience is required.
