About the role#
As a Software Engineer Intern, you will focus on software development and data science to help partners deploy and adopt IBM software. You will work with product managers and development teams to implement solutions for complex business challenges, with a focus on watsonx offerings. You will act as a technical expert, building credibility with partners while guiding them through AI approaches that realize the value of their investments.
What you'll do#
- Understand partner needs to support the migration, deployment, and adoption of IBM AI and Hybrid Cloud offerings.
- Build MVPs using Python, open source frameworks, RedHat, and the IBM product portfolio.
- Lead technical discussions to help partners align their requirements with IBM solutions.
- Perform hands-on engineering tasks to install, train, deploy, and configure IBM AI technologies.
- Contribute to use case exploration and business framing workshops while developing client value realization models.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a B.S. or M.S. degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
- Hands-on development skills in Python, LLMs, and GenAI frameworks.
- Experience with RedHat OpenShift, Kubernetes, and Unix environments.
- Knowledge of Machine Learning, Deep Learning, AI Operations, and Large Language Models.
- Familiarity with Generative AI applications, specifically Text2SQL and Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG).
- Experience with data engineering and lakehouse technologies like Spark, Presto, and Hive.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and engage with engineering teams.
- A client-focused mindset with the ability to ask open-ended questions to solve business challenges.
