About the role#
As a Software Developer Intern in the Infrastructure team, you will work on software solutions that power hybrid cloud, storage, data protection, and systems management products. You will join cross-functional teams to build and maintain the tools that help clients manage their IT environments.
What you'll do#
- Design, develop, and test software solutions throughout the full development lifecycle.
- Build scalable, secure applications, backend components, and APIs.
- Collaborate with architects, quality assurance, and operations teams to deliver customer-focused features.
- Troubleshoot software defects and resolve performance issues.
- Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical design sessions.
- Maintain technical documentation and test plans.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and DevOps practices.
- Support agile processes by joining sprint planning, standups, and retrospectives.
- Research emerging technologies to suggest improvements to existing products and processes.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Computer Science or Computer Engineering program.
- Proficiency in at least one language such as Java, Python, Go, C++, or JavaScript.
- Understanding of object-oriented programming, data structures, and software design principles.
- Experience with Git, Linux/Unix environments, and command-line tools.
- Familiarity with REST APIs, microservices, or distributed systems.
- Knowledge of databases, cloud computing, and containerization technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift.
- Awareness of software testing, debugging, and performance analysis.
- Interest in areas such as SRE practices, DevSecOps, cybersecurity, or AI/ML automation.
- Familiarity with enterprise software, IBM Cloud, or Red Hat OpenShift is a plus.
