About the role#
As a Quantum Information Software Intern, you will join the research team to advance software for fault tolerant quantum computing. You will work alongside researchers and developers to turn theoretical concepts into functional software prototypes. This is a full-time, paid summer 2027 internship.
What you'll do#
- Estimate resources for quantum algorithms.
- Compile and optimize high-level quantum algorithm primitives, such as arithmetic and block encoding.
- Develop techniques to lower non-Clifford resource usage in quantum algorithms.
- Optimize compilation for the bicycle architecture, which includes work on entanglement routing and magic state factories.
- Implement existing optimization techniques found in current literature.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Computer Science, Physics, or Computer Engineering.
- Familiarity with quantum circuits and quantum information.
- Experience with error correction and QEC circuit simulations.
- Knowledge of modern quantum algorithms used for cryptography and simulation.
- Background in early fault tolerant quantum computing literature.
- Expertise in quantum architectures based on qLDPC codes.
- A track record of independent research and publication in quantum information science.
- Ability to translate theoretical concepts into software prototypes.
Location & details#
- Location: New York, United States.
- Modality: On-site.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Sponsorship: Not available.
