About the role#
As an IBM Consulting FutureNow Center Intern, you will work with experienced professionals to solve business and technology challenges for clients. This internship provides hands-on experience with modern software development and consulting practices. You will learn from technology professionals while contributing to projects in a team-based environment. This role is designed to prepare students for a potential full-time career with IBM Consulting after graduation.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements, define technical solutions, and contribute to project delivery.
- Create technical specifications and document design decisions.
- Develop scalable, reusable code and participate in code reviews and software quality practices.
- Contribute to cloud-native and full-stack applications using databases, operating systems, cloud platforms, and modern UI frameworks.
- Assist with application configuration, workflow development, testing, integrations, and documentation.
- Learn how ServiceNow solutions translate business requirements into automated enterprise workflows.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Basic understanding of programming concepts and experience with at least one language such as Java, Python, JavaScript, C#, or C++.
- Knowledge of software development principles, object-oriented programming, algorithms, data structures, databases, and APIs.
- Exposure to ServiceNow, workflow platforms, enterprise applications, or automation technologies through coursework, projects, or personal learning.
- Familiarity with Git, Agile development, DevOps concepts, cloud platforms, or user interface frameworks.
- Interest in Artificial Intelligence, cloud computing, automation, and digital transformation.
- Experience gained through academic projects, hackathons, student organizations, research, or volunteer work.
