About the role#
As a Brand Sales Specialist Intern, you will build client relationships and connect customers with IBM solutions. You will work across areas like AI, data, automation, cloud, and infrastructure. This role focuses on consultative selling, digital engagement, and team collaboration to help you start a career in technology sales and client leadership.
What you'll do#
- Create demand and find new opportunities within assigned accounts and territories.
- Engage prospective clients through phone, email, social media, video outreach, and digital channels.
- Build a pipeline by uncovering needs for renewals, upgrades, and modernization.
- Participate in discovery conversations to learn about customer business objectives and challenges.
- Align IBM offerings with customer goals and industry trends to provide value.
- Work with Technology Sellers, Technical Specialists, Customer Success Managers, and marketing teams to execute deals.
- Present IBM technology value to business and technical stakeholders through proposals and storytelling.
- Use AI-powered sales tools and customer data to improve engagement strategies.
What you'll need#
- You are a registered undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in Business, Communications, Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Cybersecurity, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Strong interest in technology, consultative selling, and solving client challenges.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Analytical thinking, curiosity, and a customer-focused mindset.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both business and technical audiences.
- Experience in sales, consulting, marketing, or entrepreneurship through internships, projects, or extracurriculars.
- Exposure to cloud, AI, automation, data, or enterprise software.
- Leadership experience from student organizations, athletics, or volunteer work.
