Corporate Development Intern (Summer 2027)

About the role#

The Corporate Development team at Houlihan Lokey reports directly to the CEO and CFO, working in partnership with business line heads to execute strategic acquisitions and drive operational efficiencies. As an intern, you will contribute to various aspects of the acquisition lifecycle, conduct financial analyses, and prepare presentations for senior management.

What you'll do#

• Assist with a broad array of acquisition-related activities and special projects.
• Support origination efforts by developing acquisition target searches and profiles, evaluating industry participants, and maintaining CRM databases.
• Aid in post-acquisition performance tracking by analyzing precedent transactions.
• Develop and manage databases, processes, templates, and reports to drive productivity for acquisitions and strategic initiatives.
• Create reports shared with management and leveraged by the team during deal execution.

What you'll need#

• Current junior or senior standing in a Bachelor’s degree program, preferably in Finance, Accounting, or Economics.
• Previous professional internship experience is preferred.
• Basic understanding of financial modeling, analysis, and relevant accounting principles.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Excel, with a working understanding of PowerPoint and Word.
• A strong work ethic and the ability to work as a self-starter.
