About the role#
Horizon Farm Credit is hiring a full-time Human Resources Intern for the summer of 2027. This paid position is based in our Westminster, Maryland office. You will work 10 to 12 weeks from mid-May through early August, with a standard schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This role provides hands-on experience across various HR functions including recruiting, onboarding, and data management.
What you'll do#
- Support recruiting by posting job openings, reviewing resumes, and coordinating interviews.
- Assist with onboarding processes, including material preparation and new hire orientation.
- Help facilitate the Horizon Farm Credit internship program.
- Maintain HR databases and files while ensuring data accuracy.
- Document workflows and identify ways to make HR processes more efficient and employee-friendly.
- Participate in internal communication initiatives.
- Partner with HR professionals on projects to support employees and improve operations.
- Provide general administrative support and assist with employee data reporting.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- Your expected graduation date is between May 2028 and December 2029.
- You maintain a GPA of 3.0 or above.
- You have strong written and oral communication skills.
- You are proficient in Microsoft Office products like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- You can handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
- You possess strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
- You are a self-starter who is detail-oriented and flexible in a changing work environment.
- Coursework in Human Resources, Business, Marketing, or Communications is preferred.
