About the role#
Horizon Farm Credit is hiring a part-time Tax Intern for the winter season. This is a paid, 10 to 12-week internship. You will work alongside professionals to provide accounting, record-keeping, and income tax return services to our customers. This role is based on-site at one of our branch locations.
What you'll do#
- Assist with tax preparation, payroll processing, and consultative accounting services.
- Review and input financial data.
- Research tax issues and provide information to senior staff.
- Process record information to support financial reporting.
- Promote our services and participate in business development and public relations activities.
- Meet with a mentor for regular feedback and professional development.
- Complete other projects as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor degree program for Accounting, Finance, Ag Business, or a related field.
- Preferred graduation date between May 2027 and December 2029.
- Coursework in Business, Accounting, or Finance.
- Knowledge of agriculture and agricultural operations is helpful.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently with general supervision.
- Flexibility to adapt to a changing work environment.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Location & details#
- Positions are available in York, Lewisburg, Mount Joy, and Reedsville, Pennsylvania.
- This is an on-site role.
- Hours are scheduled during branch operations, typically Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., based on your school schedule.
