About the role#
This is a full-time, paid student internship for the Winter 2027 term. You will join the IT Portfolio Management Office as a Systems Developer. This team builds, automates, and streamlines processes to support core project management and governance functions. You will work in a hybrid environment based in Toronto.
What you'll do#
- Plan, code, test, and deploy incremental changes weekly within an agile development team.
- Collaborate directly with business partners to address their goals and remove roadblocks.
- Create automated processes, AI services, web components, and core reports or dashboards.
- Identify bugs, issues, and areas for improvement, then follow up with action items.
- Develop new solutions to support your team and partners.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a college or university program for Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a similar field.
- Knowledge of object-oriented programming, JavaScript, and component-based web design (such as React or Angular).
- Familiarity with cloud environments, specifically Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- Experience working with data through APIs and using reporting tools like Power BI.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment as a self-starter.
- Experience with tools such as Azure DevOps, ServiceNow, Power Platform, or Splunk is helpful. Familiarity with AI services, LLMs, or agentic development platforms is also considered an asset.
