About the role#
As an engineering intern at Exa, you will contribute to core projects that define how our search engine operates. We offer flexibility for you to choose projects based on your specific skills and interests. You will work on massive-scale machine learning systems and contribute to our goal of building a search engine that processes information across the web.
What you'll do#
- Recreate keyword search capabilities over 10 billion pages.
- Develop a crawling system designed to work across various websites.
- Build a custom vector database capable of running over a billion vectors in under 100ms.
- Contribute to engineering projects that support our search infrastructure.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field.
- Willingness to take off a semester to work full-time in San Francisco.
- Experience with high-performance languages such as C++ or Rust.
- Ability to work on-site in San Francisco.
