About the role#
Hoffman Construction Company is hiring an Intern Project Engineer for our Boise, Idaho location. This position is on-site and requires approximately 20 hours per week during the school year. You will work with your project team to set a schedule that meets this requirement. This is a paid internship.
What you'll do#
- Interpret blueprint construction drawings and technical manuals.
- Write and publish meeting minutes, schedule graphs, and activity checklists.
- Receive and distribute requests for information and change documents.
- Perform field surveying and layout of control lines and benchmarks.
- Coordinate site logistics, subcontractors, and field inspections.
- Assist with quality control, schedule management, estimating, and document control from preconstruction through closeout.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or an equivalent degree.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with critical path method scheduling software.
- Familiarity with the CSI specification system for construction.
- Training in design document reading, design specifications, and survey theory.
- Ability to lift and carry documents and survey equipment up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to access all areas of a construction site for progress reviews.
