About the role#
The Data Analyst Intern is a part-time, on-site position for students currently enrolled in a college or university. You will work roughly 20 hours per week during the academic year. To participate, you should reside in or attend school within the Texas Panhandle region, including areas such as Amarillo, Canyon, Claude, and Childress. This role supports project teams by extracting insights from data to inform decision-making.
What you'll do#
- Extract, transform, and load data from diverse sources.
- Clean data and verify data quality.
- Create and maintain reports and dashboards using Power BI.
- Assist data analysts on construction projects.
- Mine historical construction data.
- Support data strategy efforts, including updating flowcharts and creating data swim lanes.
- Assist in data science efforts, such as identifying automation opportunities, preparing data, and testing machine learning algorithms.
- Build data science workflows.
- Host meetings to teach the team and document meeting minutes.
- Complete data courses through DataCamp, Enterprise DNA, or LinkedIn Learning.
What you'll need#
- High School diploma or GED.
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Civil Engineering.
- Experience with Windows and Microsoft Office 365.
- Knowledge of or ability to learn project management software like Procore or Smartsheet.
- Experience with data analysis and reporting tools including MS Power BI, Python, Matplotlib, and Seaborn.
- Understanding of Python programming and machine learning algorithms.
- Knowledge of construction methods or a willingness to learn.
- Ability to work with trade and craft people in field environments.
- Strong time-management, multi-tasking, and communication skills.
- Visual observation and interpretation skills.
- Ability to work well through high-pressure situations.
- Ability to pass a drug and alcohol test.
- Willingness to travel to a project site for up to one week.
Location & details#
- Location: Claude, Texas.
- Schedule: Rolling, part-time (approx. 20 hours per week).
- Compensation: $25.13 - $31.50 per hour.
- Work Modality: On-site.
