About the role#
Hoffman Construction Company is seeking a Quality Coordinator Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Childress, Texas. You will support the quality department by coordinating inspections, facilitating field reviews, and ensuring project documentation meets technical standards.
What you'll do#
- Interpret design and construction documents, technical manuals, and quantify materials.
- Write and publish meeting minutes.
- Review and process quality plans and trade certifications to verify compliance.
- Evaluate inspection plans, project specifications, and industry standards to verify field installations.
- Use model viewer software to check field installations and prepare areas for upcoming work.
- Validate Requests for Information (RFIs) for active project work.
- Assist the document controller with the organization and distribution of project data.
What you'll need#
- A High School diploma or GED.
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program for Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture.
- Experience using Windows and Microsoft Office 365.
- Training in reading design and construction documents or design specifications.
- The physical ability to lift or manipulate 50 pounds to a height of 3 feet and carry or push it 50 to 100 feet.
- Ability to work in an environment that requires ascending ladders, scaffolds, and stairs or working in confined spaces.
- Strong written and oral communication skills in English.
