About the role#
This position is open exclusively to current or previous HNTB interns. You will work within the project finance team to maintain accurate financial data and support billing compliance. This is a full-time role based in Nashville, Tennessee, available for Winter or Summer 2027.
What you'll do#
- Maintain project-related financial data within the internal project management system.
- Ensure project data aligns with client contracts, change orders, and subconsultant agreements.
- Code project costs, such as vendor invoices and expense reports, using appropriate accounting codes.
- Generate routine and ad hoc financial performance reports for project and office teams.
- Review and approve project invoices to verify accuracy and contractual compliance.
- Assist with subcontracting processes and the proposal development process, including gross margin analysis.
- Act as a liaison for the project team to address contract billing questions.
What you'll need#
- An Associate degree plus 2 years of relevant work experience, or 4 years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree.
- Intermediate knowledge of HNTB processes and procedures.
- Understanding of GAAP accounting rules.
- Majors in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or Economics are preferred.
