About the role#
This position is open to current or former HNTB interns only. You will support the coordination and implementation of public engagement programs for infrastructure projects. The role involves developing communication strategies, creating digital and print content, and gathering data to educate the community on project messaging.
What you'll do#
- Assist in developing and implementing communication and outreach strategies.
- Conduct investigations and collect data to support strategy development and federal regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and distribute outreach materials to stakeholders, including agencies, news organizations, and the public.
- Draft speeches, design presentation materials, and compose correspondence for public consumption.
- Maintain records and reports for public meetings, hearings, and outreach events.
- Coordinate community meetings and public forums, including logistics, scheduling, and material preparation.
- Perform fact-checking for reports and articles.
What you'll need#
- A bachelor's degree in Political Science, Marketing, Communications, English, Journalism, or a related field. Alternatively, 4 years of relevant experience is accepted.
- Experience assisting with social media monitoring and content development.
- Ability to modify existing documents using Adobe software and Microsoft products, specifically PowerPoint.
- Experience developing and maintaining stakeholder databases.
- Basic graphic design skills and the ability to follow established style guides.

- This is an on-site position based in Nashville, Tennessee.
- The role is available for Winter 2027 and Summer 2027 terms.
- This is a full-time, paid position.
