About the role#
This summer internship offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience within our audit service line. You will work directly with engagement teams to support our clients while developing your technical and professional skills. This is a full-time, paid position based in our Long Beach office.
What you'll do#
- Assist engagement teams in documenting and executing audit procedures.
- Complete projects within established timelines and budget guidelines.
- Organize the information flow between clients and the audit team.
- Identify and communicate potential audit issues to team members.
- Provide regular status updates to seniors, managers, and partners.
- Perform self-reviews of your work to ensure quality.
- Learn and utilize firm audit software.
- Participate in firm trainings, recruiting events, and team activities.
- Collaborate with your assigned buddy and performance manager on your professional development.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor or master degree program in accounting or taxation, with an expected graduation date between December 2027 and July 2028.
- Availability to work 40 hours per week from mid-June through mid-August 2027.
- A minimum overall and accounting GPA of 3.0.
- Active membership in Beta Alpha Psi or another campus accounting organization.
- Strong technical aptitude and effective communication skills.
- Leadership skills including sound judgment and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize responsibilities, and take initiative.
- High attention to detail and a team-oriented mindset.
- Receptiveness to feedback and coaching.
