About the role#
We are looking for an IT Service Desk Technician Intern to join our Shared Services group. You will work from our Houston office to support our global operations. This role offers the chance to gain practical experience in an office environment while collaborating with diverse teams locally and globally.
What you'll do#
- Provide IT support to employees, including hardware and software assistance for desktop PCs.
- Rebuild and reconfigure desktop PCs.
- Offer application support for the MS Office Suite.
- Operate the help desk and provide support over the phone.
- Assist with the preparation of detailed designs and drawings based on specifications.
- Coordinate with technicians and engineers on various projects.
- Support senior engineers and designers as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an associate degree program for computer technology, information technology, computer science, or a related field.
- A minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair PC-related issues.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in computer support, administration, or customer-facing roles.
- Familiarity with engineering and business fundamentals.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to adapt to change.
- Preferred qualifications include A+ certification or Microsoft certifications.
Location & details#
- Location: Houston, Texas.
- Modality: This is an on-site role with hybrid flexibility. We value in-person interaction and encourage team members to be in the office most of the time.
- Status: This is a paid, full-time internship with a rolling term.
