About the role#
As a Hydrometallurgy Process Intern, you will report to the Metals group. You will support global offices while working from our Tampa, Florida location. This role involves contributing to studies for commodities like rare earths, critical minerals, and battery metals. You will work alongside senior engineers and designers to assist with detailed project designs and technical specifications.
What you'll do#
- Prepare design calculations and develop mass balance models using simulation software.
- Evaluate process alternatives, technology selection, and materials of construction.
- Provide process design requirements to designers and review plant layout developments.
- Prepare process equipment data sheets and write process descriptions and control philosophies.
- Collaborate with the project team to prepare capital and operating cost estimates.
- Support the preparation of drawings from detailed notes and specifications.
- Liaise with clients, contractor representatives, and project field personnel.
- Coordinate tasks with other technicians and engineers.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in chemical engineering, metallurgical engineering, extractive metallurgy, or a relevant field.
- A minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
- Proven skills with MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and clear communication abilities.
- Ability to learn quickly, adapt to change, and solve problems creatively.
- Previous co-op or summer work experience in metallurgical or chemical process plants is an asset.
- Academic or work experience with process modelling and developing engineering deliverables is an asset.

- Location: Tampa, Florida.
- Modality: On-site and hybrid. We value in-person interaction and encourage teams to be in the office for most of the time.
- Status: Full-time paid internship.
