Student Aide - Job Placement Resource Center

About the role#

Student Aides serve at the front desk of the Job Placement Resource Center. This role requires providing customer service to students, employers, and community members in person, via telephone, and through written or virtual communication. This is a paid, on-site, part-time position with a maximum of 20 hours per week.

What you'll do#

• Greet and assist visitors and answer phone inquiries.
• Schedule appointments, check in students, and provide information regarding center services.
• Support students in the computer lab with general questions and navigating the job board.
• Perform light clerical duties and assist office staff with special projects.
• Make appointment reminder calls to students.
• Deliver and post flyers around campus.
• Assist with outreach, marketing, and attendance at center events.
• Help with social media postings.

What you'll need#

• Must be a current Harper College student enrolled in at least 6 credits per semester (3 for summer) and eligible for Federal Work Study.
• Outgoing, friendly, and customer-focused personality.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining privacy and confidentiality.
• Strong communication skills.
• Flexibility and dependability.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel is preferred.
• Prior office experience is helpful but not required.

• Location: Palatine, Illinois.
• Work Modality: On-site.
• Schedule: Determined based on student availability within office hours (Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm).
