About the role#
Halff is seeking a Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Intern to join our MEP team in San Antonio. You will assist in the design and production of commercial, industrial, and institutional projects. This is a full-time, paid internship running from June 7, 2027, to August 13, 2027.
What you'll do#
- Design mechanical or electrical engineering projects under the direct supervision of a Professional Engineer.
- Perform drafting work using CAD.
- Conduct calculations and analysis for design projects.
- Assist in the preparation of permit applications and other regulatory documents.
- Coordinate with team members, including surveyors, architects, and contractors.
- Attend meetings with clients and regulatory agencies.
- Prepare engineered contract documentation for assigned projects.
- Assist with HVAC and plumbing design projects for mechanical roles.
- Create electrical project documents, plans, and specifications for electrical and lighting systems for electrical roles.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or an ABET accredited equivalent.
- Familiarity with Revit and AutoCAD is necessary.
- Strong communication, relationship building, and organizational skills.
- A self-motivated approach to your work.
Location & details#
- Location: San Antonio, Texas.
- Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, typically Monday through Friday from 8a to 5p.
- Modality: On-site.
