About the role#
As a Cloud Infrastructure Intern, you will join the Northeast DevSecOps team to support the Security Innovation and Technology Lab. This lab serves as an internal research and evaluation environment spanning AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform. You will gain hands-on experience building and managing cloud infrastructure while contributing to real proof-of-concept and proof-of-value engagements for clients. This role is designed for students or recent graduates who are ready to build real infrastructure in a practitioner-led environment.
What you'll do#
- Design and deploy multi-cloud lab environments using Terraform and Ansible.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions.
- Write and test reusable infrastructure-as-code modules in a version-controlled environment.
- Support environment builds for security tool evaluations, including vulnerability management, CNAPP, EDR, and AI security products.
- Develop agentic harnesses that exercise vendor products against client-defined test cases.
- Maintain lab documentation and runbooks to ensure repeatability.
- Contribute to findings reports and participate in client walkthrough sessions.
- Stay current on emerging cloud platforms, security tooling, and AI capabilities.
What you'll need#
- Hands-on experience with at least one infrastructure-as-code tool such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
- Current enrollment in or recent graduation from a computer science or engineering degree program.
- Exposure to scripting or programming languages like Python or Bash.
- Technical aptitude and comfort building real infrastructure.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to produce precise technical documentation.
- Enthusiasm for cloud infrastructure, DevOps practices, and security tool evaluation.
Location & details#
- This is a remote, part-time, paid internship.
- Interns are expected to work 25-29 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
- Candidates are preferred to be in the Eastern or Central time zones.
- You must be physically located within the United States for the duration of the internship.
- This position is not available to residents of Alaska, California, Hawaii, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Washington, or Wyoming.
