About the role#
As an Infrastructure Deployment Automation Intern, you will assist in designing, building, and maintaining automation solutions for large-scale High-Performance Computing (HPC) and AI environments. This role provides hands-on experience in software development, systems engineering, DevOps, and AI-assisted operations.
What you'll do#
- Support the development of automated workflows for deploying and managing HPC and AI infrastructure.
- Assist in scripting and automating tasks using languages such as Python, Bash, or similar.
- Help build and test CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure components, containers, and software stacks.
- Contribute to infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and recovery activities under supervision.
- Collaborate with team members to integrate compute, networking, storage, and container technologies.
- Participate in creating documentation, operational procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
- Learn to use advanced AI tools and techniques, including natural language queries and retrieval-augmented generation, to improve documentation and support workflows.
- Gain exposure to monitoring, logging, and security best practices for large-scale systems.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of Linux operating systems, scripting, and programming languages such as Python or Bash.
- Interest in automation, infrastructure, HPC, or AI/ML systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Eagerness to learn new technologies.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

- Location: Bloomington, Minnesota, United States.
- Modality: Hybrid (requires working from the office on average 2 days per week).
