About the role#
This internship focuses on high-performance network transport and telemetry within our HPC and AI networking infrastructure. You will work on software components that monitor and analyze network behavior to ensure performance and reliability. This is a full-time, hybrid position requiring an average of two days per week in the office.
What you'll do#
- Develop software components for high-performance network telemetry.
- Implement functions for telemetry ingestion, packet decoding, validation, and normalization.
- Design and develop data persistence and telemetry analytics capabilities.
- Create tools to reconstruct network paths and calculate per-hop latency and congestion metrics.
- Build operational monitoring, health metrics, and visualization tools.
- Participate in testing, debugging, performance characterization, and validation of telemetry systems.
- Collaborate with networking, switch, software, and architecture teams to define and verify project requirements.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Python, with C++ or Rust experience considered a plus.
- Experience with Linux development and diagnostic tools.
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals including Ethernet, TCP/IP, UDP, routing, and switching.
- Familiarity with packet structures, protocol analysis, and packet capture tools.
- Understanding of data storage, databases, and data processing pipelines.
- Experience or coursework in operating systems, distributed systems, or software engineering.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot protocol behavior.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
