About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in agronomy field operations. You will work under the direction of location management to learn the foundations of the industry and prepare for a future career in agriculture. You will assist with general agronomy functions, facility maintenance, and equipment repair.
What you'll do#
- Operate field research and crop monitoring equipment and technology for scouting.
- Apply crop nutrition and crop protection products.
- Build professional relationships by visiting FS locations and customers.
- Gain experience with ordering, receiving, and inventory control.
- Follow safety, environmental, and compliance procedures.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a degree or certification from a community college, technical college, or university.
- Ability to obtain a CDL and commercial applicator’s license with required endorsements.
- Valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record.
- Ability to work independently.
- Willingness to participate in required training.
- Ability to lift 51-70 pounds frequently.
- Comfort working in extreme weather conditions and at various heights or elevated platforms.
- Ability to travel independently and stay overnight when necessary.
