About the role#
Join AgVantage FS as an Agronomy Intern for the Summer of 2027. You will gain hands-on experience supporting agronomy operations and serving farmer-member customers. This role is part of the GROWMARK Internship Program, which includes professional development, networking, and a capstone project.
What you'll do#
- Support agronomy professionals with daily operations and customer service.
- Conduct field scouting to monitor crop health and collect data.
- Assist with agronomy trials, plot work, field demonstrations, and research projects.
- Use precision agriculture tools and technology for data collection.
- Participate in grower events and customer visits.
- Help manage product inventory and operational tasks.
- Travel to various locations to build relationships with partners and customers.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree or certification program in agriculture at a college or university.
- A genuine interest in agronomy and crop production.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- A valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds.
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions and at elevated heights.
- Willingness to travel, including occasional overnight trips.
Location & details#
- Location: Maquoketa, Iowa.
- Term: Summer 2027, starting no later than May 24, 2027.
- Commitment: Minimum of 12 weeks, including attendance at three required internship meetings.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: This is a paid position.
