About the role#
As a Grain Intern at Farmers Win Cooperative, you will gain hands-on experience by shadowing our Grain Supervisor. This role provides a direct look at the daily operations and responsibilities required to manage grain purchasing and marketing within our cooperative.
What you'll do#
- Learn the fundamentals of grain purchasing and marketing.
- Build and maintain relationships with our customers.
- Identify customer needs and communicate market updates alongside our product and service offerings.
- Prepare and finalize cash contracts and grower agreements.
- Match the right products and services to specific customer requirements.
- Execute contracts and agreements.
- Enforce cooperative policies, including our credit policy.
- Complete other tasks as assigned by management.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Agriculture or Business Administration.
- Strong negotiation and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency with computers.
- Good interpersonal skills for working with customers and staff.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid, on-site position based in Fredericksburg, Iowa.
- The term is rolling.
