About the role#
The Agronomy Intern works directly with experienced agronomists during the summer growing season. You will gain hands-on experience in crop production while acting as a crop consultant. This position involves supporting the agronomy department with daily operations and completing an assigned agronomic project.
What you'll do#
- Perform regular field checks to diagnose problems.
- Monitor insect populations, weed pressure, and disease levels.
- Check soil moisture status and perform soil sampling.
- Generate detailed, computerized field reports.
- Collaborate with farmers on sales and research projects.
- Invoice product deliveries and ensure office tickets are accurate.
- Maintain the fertilizer plant, warehouse, and your personal office area.
- Operate trucks and equipment safely while following all regulations.
- Communicate safe storage and handling procedures to customers.
- Uphold company safety and credit policies.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an Agriculture major.
