About the role#
Trans Ova is hiring a Professional Services Embryologist intern for our Bryan, Texas center. This role supports our team with IVF lab procedures, data entry, and inventory management. You will work in both the clinic and on farms during OPU and transfer trips, gaining direct experience with our clients and lab operations.
What you'll do#
- Learn safe handling procedures for liquid nitrogen, semen, and embryos.
- Apply standard operating procedures for oocyte searching, grading, and fresh IVF embryo grading.
- Master the thawing procedure for DT embryos for transfers.
- Manage and organize supplies for procedures and frozen inventories.
- Assist the team with data entry for transfers, OPUs, billing, and embryo shipments.
- Cross-train with client services, the IVF lab, the sexed semen lab, donor/recip herdsmen, and veterinary staff.
- Learn reproductive terminology used in the livestock industry and communicate options to clients.
- Represent the company in a professional manner.
- Provide feedback on your experience and suggest improvements to our internal systems.
What you'll need#
- Progress toward a degree in Animal Science or a related agriculture field.
- Strong attention to detail and a drive for accuracy.
- An interest in the agriculture industry and the role of reproductive technologies in the bovine sector.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Clear communication skills for interacting with people from diverse backgrounds.
- A willingness to learn and grow professionally.
