About the role#
As a Financial Analyst Intern, you will help influence the future of GreatAmerica by working directly with our finance team. This internship is designed for students in finance, accounting, or economics to gain practical experience while contributing to strategic business decisions. You will perform financial analysis and present your findings and recommendations to senior leadership.
What you'll do#
- Perform variance and trending analysis for financial metrics and performance measures.
- Summarize findings and provide recommendations to senior leadership.
- Contribute to monthly financial analysis and internal reporting.
- Assist in the preparation of corporate and business unit 5-year financial models, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Perform scenario analysis and provide decision support.
- Maintain and update profitability and pricing tools.
- Contribute data and financial analysis to cross-functional projects.
- Perform post-project analysis to evaluate if planned outcomes were achieved.
- Make recommendations to management regarding cost-saving or profit-generating opportunities.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with strong skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills.

- This role is based on-site in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
- The position is part-time and follows a rolling term.
- This is a paid internship.
