About the role#
This internship program provides a look into the insurance industry through the Corporate Claims division. You will gain exposure to claims handling, analysis, investigation, and negotiation. The program includes a mix of hands-on work, self-study, and professional development. You will rotate or focus within areas such as Reinsurance, Operations, or the Special Investigation Unit. This is a 10-week summer position.
What you'll do#
- Work on meaningful assignments and projects.
- Learn to use claims systems, programs, and databases.
- Complete reading assignments, case studies, and self-study courses.
- Participate in seminars, workshops, and lunch-and-learns.
- Meet with individuals across different functions to understand the business.
- Handle specific tasks based on your assigned area, such as setting up new claims, analyzing reinsurance contracts, or performing social media investigations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor degree program.
- Minimum 3.0 GPA, with 3.5 preferred.
- Strong skills in communication, analysis, planning, and organizing.
- Proven leadership through work, campus involvement, or extracurricular activities.
- Self-motivated work style.
- Insurance and Risk Management students are encouraged to apply.
