About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in the Internal Audit Department at Great American Insurance Group. You will support the protection of assets and the reliability of financial and operational records. The role focuses on evaluating internal controls, analyzing data, and strengthening governance, risk management, and compliance across the organization.
What you'll do#
- Perform internal audits and review internal controls for efficiency and effectiveness.
- Test the reasonableness of financial balances.
- Prepare electronic audit workpapers following company standards.
- Update the audit coordinator on assignment progress.
- Discuss results and recommendations for improvement with the audit team.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business major.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Word, Visio, and Outlook.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills.
Location & details#
- This position is based in Cincinnati, Ohio.
- The role is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027.
- We follow a hybrid work schedule, typically requiring four days in the office and one day of remote work each week.
- Interns may have the opportunity to continue working part-time during the subsequent school year.
