About the role#
This internship provides experience with federal income tax law for corporations, partnerships, and foreign entities. You will work within the American Financial Group Tax Department to gain fundamental knowledge of tax compliance and planning. This is a full-time, paid position for the Winter 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Prepare federal income tax returns and provision calculations.
- Coordinate with the accounting team to book journal entries.
- Assist with state and local tax returns, extensions, and estimates.
- Use tax software and Microsoft Office to produce and store supporting documents.
- Interact with internal departments to collect data for tax compliance.
- Complete other projects as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university with a major in accounting.
- An overall GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to manage your workload independently and handle multiple tasks.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- High attention to detail.

- This role is based in Cincinnati, Ohio.
- The position follows a hybrid work schedule, requiring four days on-site per week.
- This role does not offer employment visa sponsorship.
