About the role#
As an Internal Audit Intern, you will join the Enact Internal Audit Department for a 12-week program starting May 17, 2027. You will report to the Internal Audit Senior Manager and work alongside industry experts to support strategic, operational, financial, and compliance audits. This role provides exposure to business processes, risk management practices, and internal control activities within the mortgage insurance industry.
What you'll do#
- Assist team members with planning, executing, and reporting on audit and advisory projects.
- Participate in meetings, interviews, and walkthroughs to understand business processes, risks, and controls.
- Review documentation and help organize audit evidence.
- Support the execution of audit procedures under the guidance of experienced auditors.
- Document work performed clearly and accurately using Internal Audit methodology.
- Analyze data to support audit testing and identify trends or exceptions.
- Draft observations, summaries, and other audit deliverables.
- Collaborate with team members and business partners.
- Support departmental initiatives to improve processes and tools.
- Participate in professional development activities and teambuilding events.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, information systems, or a related field.
- Strong interest in internal audit, risk management, accounting, or financial services.
- Self-motivated with curiosity, attention to detail, and a desire to learn.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to reason logically, analyze information, and draw conclusions with guidance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience using Excel to organize and analyze data.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
- Coursework or project experience in accounting, auditing, risk management, or finance is preferred.
- Interest in pursuing professional certifications such as CPA, CIA, or CISA is a plus.
