About the role#
As an Assistant Project Engineer Intern, you will work on-site to support our project managers and field teams. This role provides a realistic look at full-time construction work. You will handle meaningful tasks, engage in daily coordination, and contribute to project success throughout the summer of 2027.
What you'll do#
- Assist with project documentation, scheduling, and daily activity coordination.
- Review drawings and specifications to ensure they meet project goals and industry standards.
- Track project progress by maintaining daily logs, recording material deliveries, and noting completed work.
- Join on-site meetings to observe real-time decision-making and problem-solving.
- Prepare RFIs and submittals to help keep project milestones on track.
- Support project safety by observing and reporting on-site conditions.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to assist with procurement and logistics.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a bachelor degree in civil engineering, building construction management, or a related field.
- Ability to work full-time.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Clear verbal and written communication abilities.
- A self-starter mentality with proactive problem-solving skills.
- Comfort with technology and a willingness to learn new software.
- Proficiency in construction management software such as ProCore, ViewPoint, or Microsoft Project is preferred.
- High emotional intelligence and the ability to build rapport with diverse teams.
Location & details#
- Positions are located on-site in Jefferson, Delaware, and Columbus, Ohio.
- This is a paid, full-time internship for Summer 2027.
