About the role#
Granger Construction is looking for an intern to join our Estimating team in Grand Rapids. This role offers a realistic look at the construction industry by involving you in meaningful work. You will support the estimating process from bid solicitation through project planning.
What you'll do#
- Organize documents and engage with trade partners for bid solicitation.
- Attend pre-bid meetings.
- Create bid listings, quantity takeoffs, construction schedules, and estimate reports.
- Evaluate bids on bid day to identify risks and opportunities.
- Assist with job cost setups and project execution planning.
- Check in with field teams on active job sites.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, building construction management, or a related field.
- Ability to work full-time.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Comfort with technology and a willingness to learn new software.
- Proficiency in software like ProCore, ViewPoint, Microsoft Project, WinEst, or OST is a plus.
