About the role#
Granger Construction offers a Summer 2027 internship for students interested in Virtual Design and Construction. This position provides a realistic experience where interns take on meaningful responsibilities and contribute to active project teams. It is a full-time, paid role based on-site in Lansing, Michigan.
What you'll do#
- Assist with daily BIM coordination tasks for project teams.
- Create architectural, structural, and MEP 3D models.
- Process drone point clouds and 3D models.
- Use virtual reality tools for architectural visualization.
- Help plan site logistics to improve project efficiency.
- Support 4D scheduling to link time and resources with 3D models.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a bachelor's degree program for building construction management, civil engineering, or a related field.
- Ability to work full-time.
- Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
- A self-starter mindset with a focus on problem-solving and meeting deadlines.
- Comfort with technology and a desire to learn new software.
- High emotional intelligence and the ability to build rapport with others.
- Prior experience with BIM coordination, architectural design, or engineering design.
- Experience with GIS systems or drones.
- Field experience with MEP system installation is a plus.
