About the role#
The Software Development Engineer Intern supports engineering teams by building and improving software solutions within an Agile environment. You will gain hands-on experience by contributing to web, mobile, API, and data-driven applications. This role focuses on modern development practices, production reliability, and team collaboration. The internship concludes with a final capstone presentation of your work.
What you'll do#
- Attend and participate in scrum events, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
- Develop product features for data marketplaces, mobile apps, web applications, and API services.
- Assist with DevOps tooling improvements and vulnerability remediation.
- Maintain a production-first mindset focused on scale, uptime, and issue resolution.
- Participate in team and departmental meetings.
- Complete a final capstone presentation to share your internship achievements.
What you'll need#
- Current student pursuing a bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Data Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or Statistics.
- Junior or Senior classification is preferred, with at least one semester remaining upon the start of the internship.
- Minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently or within a team setting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with business leaders.
- Proficiency in using AI tools like Microsoft Copilot, including evaluating outputs for accuracy, compliance, and bias.
- Experience integrating AI into workflows for research, summarization, or code generation.

- Location: Arlington, Texas.
- Term: Summer 2027 (May 26, 2027, to August 6, 2027).
- Modality: Hybrid (2 days a week in the office).
- Employment: Full-time, paid internship.
