About the role#
GHD is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 term. You will join the Engineering Design Organization to support project managers and engineers on tasks related to water distribution, sewer collection, pumping stations, roadways, and stormwater projects.
What you'll do#
- Research code and regulatory requirements.
- Research design options and component specifications while documenting your findings.
- Assist with CADD drawings.
- Perform analysis and design retrofits for new and existing facilities.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program for Civil Engineering.
- A solid understanding of engineering fundamentals.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Ability to learn on the job and apply theory in practical settings.
- Capability to manage multiple tasks and determine priorities.
- Preferred: Involvement in professional organizations.

- Location: Columbia, South Carolina.
- Work Modality: Hybrid (three days per week in the office).

- Status: Paid, full-time internship.
