About the role#
Geotab is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern to join the Production Team for a 16-month term starting in May 2027. This is a full-time, paid position where you will support automotive and production initiatives. You will work alongside internal stakeholders, suppliers, and manufacturers to ensure product designs meet electrical and mechanical requirements.
What you'll do#
- Create and maintain harness and cable assembly schematics and mechanical drawings using SolidWorks.
- Build engineering prototypes based on specific design requirements.
- Perform stack-up and tolerance analysis on various products to ensure dimensional accuracy.
- Manage document control and maintain revision history for internal and external documentation.
- Assist the production team with the design and creation of jig tooling.
- Review supplier drawings and First Article samples to ensure compliance with engineering specifications.
What you'll need#
- Currently completing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Proficiency with SolidWorks.
- Proven ability to make independent judgments using sound engineering principles.
- Experience with engineering document control through coursework or previous projects.

- Location: Oakville, Ontario, Canada.
- Term: 16 months, beginning May 2027.
- Modality: Hybrid work model.
- Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week.
