About the role#
Teledyne Technologies is looking for a Mechanical Engineering Intern to join our Mechanical Design Team in Miamisburg, Ohio. This is a full-time, paid position. You will work on-site to support the design and development of weapon system components, including Electronic Safe and Arm Devices and Ignition Safety Devices.
What you'll do#
- Assist the technical staff with conceptual and detail designs for weapon system components.
- Perform tolerance studies and select components while accounting for thermal stress, shock, and vibration.
- Prepare engineering drawings and technical reports.
- Assist in the preparation of technical proposals.
- Participate in design reviews, specification reviews, and pre-production builds.
- Plan test procedures and conduct laboratory experiments.
- Analyze and interpret data from product testing and manufacturability assessments.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Knowledge of Solidworks.
- Experience with machining processes.
- Familiarity with military high reliability programs and Military Standards.
- Strong attention to detail and ingenuity.
- U.S. citizenship is required due to Department of Energy requirements.
