About the role#
As a Manufacturing Engineering Intern for Global Automation, you will gain hands-on experience by working in plant and corporate staff locations. This role is designed to help you develop your skills while contributing to real projects across our assembly, stamping, and propulsion plants. You will work with a team to solve problems, interface with new technologies, and support the manufacturing process.
What you'll do#
- Program and integrate software and hardware on industrial automation equipment.
- Analyze product, process, and technology to determine the best methods to assemble vehicles.
- Assist in the design, build, and validation of tools and equipment.
- Troubleshoot special maintenance and equipment problems.
- Coordinate machinery and equipment upgrade projects.
What you'll need#
- Pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Kinesiology.
- Graduation date between December 2027 and June 2029.
- Ability to work full-time, 40 hours per week during the summer of 2027.
- Willingness to work in a plant environment and be available for any shift, including weekends.

- This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship for Summer 2027.
- Locations include Warren, Detroit-Hamtramck, Brownstown, Bay City, Flint, Lansing, Orion, and Milford, Michigan; Fort Wayne, Indiana; Arlington, Texas; Bowling Green, Kentucky; Spring Hill, Tennessee; Wentzville, Missouri; Fairfax, Kansas; and Toledo and Parma, Ohio.
