About the role#
The Mechatronic Infrastructure Diagnostic System team is looking for a co-op student to support a digital modernization initiative. You will help migrate diagnostic content, data, and collaboration tools from Microsoft-based platforms to new environments including Google Workspace, Confluence, Jira, and GitHub. This role provides practical experience in data transformation, information architecture, and the responsible use of AI for automation.
What you'll do#
- Analyze existing Microsoft Workspace files, SharePoint websites, and SharePoint lists to understand their structure, content, and business purpose.
- Redevelop SharePoint websites as equivalent Google-based sites while preserving usability, navigation, and business requirements.
- Convert SharePoint lists into approved solutions like GitHub or Jira.
- Develop repeatable processes, templates, scripts, and AI-assisted workflows to reduce manual conversion effort.
- Validate migrated content through structured comparisons, data checks, usability reviews, and stakeholder feedback.
- Collaborate with technical teams, business stakeholders, and subject-matter experts to clarify requirements and resolve migration issues.
- Follow GitHub version-control practices, including branching, pull requests, and reviews.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, Software Engineering, Applied Science and Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Enrolled in a co-op program and meeting all program eligibility requirements.
- Eligible to work full time, 40 hours per week, for a term of 4, 8, or 12 months starting in Winter 2027.
- Legally entitled to work in Canada without the need for sponsorship.
Location & details#
- This position is based in Markham, Ontario, Canada.
- The role is hybrid, requiring you to report to the Markham Elevation Centre at least three times per week.
- This is a paid, full-time co-op position.
