    About the role#

    As a Software Engineering Co-op with the Critical Infrastructure Communication team, you will join an active development group working on next-generation product lines. You will gain hands-on experience by contributing to software design, development, and testing while learning our product portfolio. This is a full-time, paid position based in Rochester, New York, covering the Winter and Summer 2027 terms.

    What you'll do#

    • Design, develop, and test software using Java, C, or C++.
    • Integrate GE Cloud DevOps tools into the existing GE MDS CI/CD process, such as using Python for functional system regression automation.
    • Follow established engineering processes, practices, and procedures throughout the development lifecycle.
    • Report project status and progress to management.
    • Estimate the time required to implement features and resolve issues to assist with task prioritization.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a full-time undergraduate or graduate program in Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or IT.
    • A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
    • Proficiency in Java, C, and C++.
    • Experience with Python script development.
    • Ability to work on-site with minimal supervision.

    • Location: Rochester, New York.
    • Term: Winter 2027 and Summer 2027.
    • Modality: On-site, 40 hours per week.
