About the role#
As a Software Engineering Co-op with the Critical Infrastructure Communication team, you will join an active development group working on next-generation product lines. You will gain hands-on experience by contributing to software design, development, and testing while learning our product portfolio. This is a full-time, paid position based in Rochester, New York, covering the Winter and Summer 2027 terms.
What you'll do#
- Design, develop, and test software using Java, C, or C++.
- Integrate GE Cloud DevOps tools into the existing GE MDS CI/CD process, such as using Python for functional system regression automation.
- Follow established engineering processes, practices, and procedures throughout the development lifecycle.
- Report project status and progress to management.
- Estimate the time required to implement features and resolve issues to assist with task prioritization.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a full-time undergraduate or graduate program in Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or IT.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- Proficiency in Java, C, and C++.
- Experience with Python script development.
- Ability to work on-site with minimal supervision.
