About the role#
GE Vernova is hiring a Software Engineering Co-op to join the Critical Infrastructure Communication (CIC) Engineering Team. This role is based in Rochester, New York, and runs from January through August 2027. You will work on-site 40 hours per week as part of a development team focused on next-generation product lines.
What you'll do#
- Design, develop, and test software using Java, C, or C++.
- Integrate GE Cloud DevOps tools into the existing GE MDS CI/CD process, including Python-based automation.
- Follow established engineering practices and procedures throughout the development lifecycle.
- Report project status and progress to management.
- Estimate the time required to implement features and resolve technical issues to assist with task prioritization.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a full-time undergraduate or graduate program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Engineering, or IT.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- Proficiency in Java, C++, or C programming.
- Experience with software development and revision control tools like git or GitHub.
- Experience developing Python scripts.
