About the role#
As a Software Engineering Co-op with the Critical Infrastructure Communication team, you will contribute to next-generation product lines. You will work on an active development team, learn our product portfolio, and gain experience in software development techniques. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Rochester, New York, running from January through August 2027.
What you'll do#
- Design, develop, and test software using Java, C, or C++.
- Integrate GE Cloud DevOps tools into existing CI/CD processes, including Python script development for functional automation.
- Follow established engineering processes, practices, and procedures.
- Report project progress and status to management.
- Estimate time requirements for feature implementation and issue resolution.
- Apply academic knowledge to deliver customer outcomes and improve business operations.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a full-time undergraduate or graduate program in Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or IT.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- Proficiency in Java, C++, and C.
- Experience with Python script development.
- Ability to work under minimal supervision.
Location & details#
- Location: Rochester, New York.
- Term: January 2027 through August 2027.
- Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, 1st shift.
- Compensation: Paid position ranging from $21.00 to $36.00 per hour, depending on years of study completed.
