About the role#
As a CIC Systems Engineer Co-op, you will join the Critical Infrastructure Communication Engineering Team in Rochester, New York. You will work on a next generation product line, learning our portfolio while contributing to active development tasks. This position runs from May through December 2027 and requires a full-time, 40-hour weekly schedule.
What you'll do#
- Design, develop, and test software using Java, C, or C++.
- Integrate GE Cloud DevOps tools into the existing GE MDS CI/CD process.
- Assist with designing and developing sub-systems and features.
- Report progress and status to project management.
- Perform rough time estimates for feature implementation and issue resolution.
- Follow established engineering processes, practices, and procedures throughout the development lifecycle.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a full-time undergraduate or graduate program in Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or IT.
- A minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA.
- Proficiency in programming with Java, C++, or C.
- Status as a US Citizen, permanent resident, or other protected individual under the Immigration and Naturalization Act due to export control requirements.
