About the role#
Join the LSS team at GE HealthCare as a Software Engineering Co-op. You will gain hands-on experience developing software for life-support medical devices, including anesthesia and respiratory care products. You will work alongside experienced engineers on embedded software and test tools while participating in the full software development lifecycle.
What you'll do#
- Develop and maintain real-time and non-real-time software applications using C++.
- Support the development of embedded software for production hardware platforms.
- Design, develop, and maintain software test tools to verify product performance.
- Participate in the design, implementation, testing, debugging, and documentation of software.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to solve technical challenges.
- Work both independently and as part of a team to meet project objectives.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Graduation date of December 2027 or later.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Demonstrated programming experience in C++, Python, or C#.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proven leadership experience through academic, extracurricular, or professional activities.
- Availability to work for a minimum of 28 weeks.
- Willingness to relocate to Madison, WI.
