About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027 based in Jacksonville, Florida. You will join the Research & Development team to support our vision care projects, including contact lenses and surgical technology. This role requires working on-site for 40 hours per week.
What you'll do#
- Execute project assignments related to eye health products, enabling technologies, or internal R&D operations.
- Perform fundamental statistical research, clinical data analysis, and simulation studies.
- Evaluate various meta-analytic methodologies, including their assumptions, strengths, and limitations.
- Develop validated, reproducible code in R and SAS to implement meta-analytic methods.
- Collaborate with scientists, engineers, and other technical disciplines across functional groups.
- Review progress and evaluate project results.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least one year in a PhD program for Statistical Sciences, Biostatistics, or a related field.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Experience with SAS and R, with solid programming knowledge in R.
- Basic proficiency in data analysis methodologies and familiarity with clinical trial concepts.
- Knowledge of random effects models, with a preference for experience in meta-analytic methodologies.
- An interest in building simulation code.
- Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team.
- Must be authorized to work in the US without current or future sponsorship.
- Must remain actively enrolled in your academic program throughout the internship.
